The Partners are The Da Vinci Institute, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Technology Innovation Agency, and Innocentrix and Blank Canvas International. For the period 2017 to 2019, they will work closely together to support, showcase and recognize the role of leadership in the Management of Innovation and Technology as it relates to growth, differentiation, and sustainable development.
The Da Vinci Institute.
The Da Vinci Institute is a School of Business Leadership contributing towards socio-economic development and transformation. Each year, it hosts the tt100 Business Innovation Awards programme to identify role models who have demonstrated excellence in co-creating new workplace realities.
Department of Science and Technology.
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) serves to increase well-being and prosperity through science, technology, and innovation. Its mission is to provide leadership, an enabling environment, and resources for science, technology, and innovation in support of South Africa’s development.
The Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) is an entity of the Department of Science and Technology that enables and supports technological innovation across all sectors of the economy in order to deliver socio-economic benefits for South Africa and enhance its global competitiveness. These goals are achieved by supporting the development and commercialisation of research outputs from higher education institutions, science councils, public entities, private research institutions and enterprises and bringing them to market. TIA uses South Africa’s science and technology base to develop new industries, create sustainable jobs and help diversify the economy. Therefore, the mission of TIA is to exploit South Africa’s knowledge resources for sustainable socio-economic opportunities.
TIA has the following funding mechanisms: Seed Fund, Technology Development Fund and the Commercialisation Support Fund. Innovation enabling and Non-funding support instruments for innovators and SMMEs includes, Technology Stations (engineering services – infrastructure & advise), Technology Platforms (life science/ biotechnology – infrastructure & advise), Innovation Skills Development Programme, Technology Innovation Cluster Programme, the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme and the Youth Technology Innovation Programme.

The African Sustainable Development Association (A-SDA) is a non-for profit organisation driving collaborative projects towards sustainable business development in Africa and South Africa. The A-SDA is synonymous with enabling resilient business and value chain performance. The organisation’s ethos is evident in their activities, which include the Annual African Sustainability Summit (since 2014), SME Green Pitch competition (since 2016) and the A-SDA Business Services through implementation partners such as Blank Canvas Int. The A-SDA is proud to be associated with tt100 programme’s sustainability, resilient business and value chain performance through the Blank Canvas Int. Sustainability Award.
